An amazing school assembly: The Possibility of Kindness

Kindness is absolutely essential to instill in students. Greg Bennick offers a new and positive approach to promoting kindness and to anti-bullying for young people nationwide. His messages are clear, and the laughs, along with most importantly the ideas, are nonstop.

He performs an assembly with interactive comedy juggling, with every trick explained and connected to meaningful lessons about kindness. The Possibility of Kindness™ school assembly generates positivity by asking students to reflect on what kindness means. Students learn what we can do to enhance kindness, and what our role is in bringing that kindness to our classmates, our families, and our community.

Greg addresses three central ideas in his assembly and relates them all back to being kind. He explains each of these ideas, in language tailored to each age group he serves:

Be kind: a simple idea, but an important concept. We look at ways to be kind to others and answer why it is important to do so.
Say yes: when we say yes to being kind, it opens up a world of possibilities for learning, connection, and growth
Its up to you: we explore personal responsibility and look at our role in elevating the ways we are kind to others

Students are also asked to remember and reflect on instances of kindness: their own and others’. Greg celebrates those as examples of what our behavior can look like if we make the choice to consider the feelings of others.

For students, growing up during the pandemic means a social challenge now that we are back to being live and in person. Behavioral guidance is key for young people during this time as students explore social norms without some of the foundational work that benefitted prior generations.

Students also need support around what bullying is, and what it is not. They need ideas for how to approach instances of bullying when they might find themselves to be a victim, or if they find themselves to be a bystander. They need tools for managing new situations.

Greg includes an all-day package where he visits classrooms and discusses directly with students the ideas they will see in the show. In the photo above, during a class visit to Findley Elementary in Beaverton, Oregon, students discussed what it means to be kind to oneself, how we can be kind in school, and ways to be inclusive and kind to students who are different from themselves.

He has been presenting school assemblies nationwide for decades, themed from anti-bullying assemblies to reading assemblies and now kindness assemblies. He believes that we create a better future for society overall when we focus on how students interact with one another today.

Greg’s practical ideas for students are custom crafted to your school by working in conjunction with you prior to the assembly day. This is a customized work, tailored to your school to help enhance the experience for students.

Greg also offers parent night events where he discussing bullying prevention with parents and explains how anti-bullying work begins at home, reviewing the ideas we talked about in the classroom and assembly discussions.

For HIGH SCHOOLS and MIDDLE SCHOOLS:

“Greg demonstrates and reminds us of the value of creativity and inspiration.”
- Rich Stremme, Brooklyn College
Brooklyn, New York

For High Schools and Middle Schools, Greg offers kindness assembly programs with an important added angle: tying in the ways kindness to ourselves and others can advance our goals, build relationships, and allow us to fulfill our dreams and ambitions.

Here’s what a recent high school principal on the east coast had to say:

Mr. Greg Bennick visited Methacton High School for an assembly that was nothing short of inspiring, thanks to his dynamic performance and powerful message. His unique combination of captivating juggling skills and heartfelt storytelling left an unforgettable impression on both students and staff alike.

From the moment he took the stage, Greg’s energy and charisma commanded attention. His juggling skills were not just a visual spectacle but also a creative metaphor for balancing life’s challenges and maintaining focus amidst chaos.  Each flawlessly executed routine  tied into his message of kindness, making his performance both entertaining and deeply meaningful.  Greg’s creative approach ensured his message will be remembered for a long time to come.

In addition to kindness presentations, Greg offers this as an alternative presentation:

  • BUILD A BETTER NOW: In this presentation, drawn from ideas from the keynotes Greg offers organizations worldwide at gregbennick.com, and based on the ideas in Greg’s best-selling book “Reclaim the Moment: 7 Strategies to Build a Better Now”, Greg inspires student leaders, DECA students, and graduating seniors to get out into the world and engage, expand, and explore life for all it has to offer.

He explains that “Exhaust yourself” is a reference to the idea that at the end of each day we should be in awe of what we’ve seen, done, and accomplished. This is a perfect presentation for a graduation as seniors from Catlin Gabel school in Portland Oregon discovered when they hired Greg as their grad speaker (photo below!).

Included are important messages about leadership as a means of taking initiative, imagining a better future, and serving others. Students who hope to be leaders need to listen in order to be in service and need to be compassionate and connected in order to advance everyone together. Greg inspires your students to take the lead and to get as much out of life and collaboration as possible.
